We usually do not recommend cleaning the mouse pad of AC2, as excessive cleaning can also cause changes in the feel.
The frequently used part of the mat may have slowed down, which may be related to the duration of use and wear. Are you using PTFE mouse skates?

Not scratch, the overall time you spend in the middle area will be longer than in other areas, the longer the usage time, the greater the chance of slowing down compared to other areas. The area that slows down may also be affected by sweat stains, hand friction, etc. If you want to clean, do not use hard products such as brushes. Use your hands or sponge enough.
I’m using the Viper V2 Pro stock skates, in fact, I bought the Aqua Control after getting the Viper V2 Pro. I’m really happy with the mousepad, my only problem is, as I mentioned, it slides a little less in the middle. It’s not that bad; it actually allows me to use it more controlled in a way.
