Quick answer: Measure your desk first, then pick the shape that matches it: a rectangle for standard desks (leave 2–3 cm of margin from the desk edges), an L-shaped mat for corner desks (cover the whole L or just the corner), or an irregular cut for desks with cutouts and non-standard outlines. Step 1: Measure Your Desk (the Right Way)

A custom mat fails or succeeds at the measuring tape. Three rules:

1. Measure the usable area, not the desk’s nominal size. A desk sold as “120 × 60 cm” may lose depth to a monitor stand, a rear cable tray, or a modesty panel. Measure the rectangle you actually want covered.

2. Leave a margin. We recommend keeping the mat 2–3 cm short of any desk edge. A mat cut exactly to the desk outline will overhang somewhere — desks are rarely perfectly square.

3. Write it down as width × depth in cm or inches — either works; our ordering takes both.

Step 2: Match the Shape to Your Desk

Standard rectangle desks → custom-size rectangle

Corner desks → the L-shaped mat

L-shaped and corner desks are where standard mats give up. Our custom L-shaped desk mat is cut to your drawing, and you have two ways to use it:

• Cover the whole L — one continuous mat across both desk runs, so your mouse never crosses a seam or an edge when you turn between monitors.

• Cover just the corner — a smaller L that fills the elbow of the desk where your keyboard and mouse actually live.

Both are the same fabric-and-rubber construction at 3 mm thickness. If your corner desk is the popular IKEA Linnmon 47 1/4″ × 47 1/4″, there’s even a ready-made cut for it.

Desks with cutouts, curves, or odd outlines → irregular shapes

Monitor pole in the middle of the desk? A U-shaped cutout for a cockpit chair? A polygon tabletop? That’s the irregular-shape custom service. Send a sketch with the dimensions marked; we cut to the outline. We’ve made U-shaped desk mats, irregular polygon mats for corner workstations, and even printed workbench mats — if you can draw it, we can probably cut it.

Truly unconventional dimensions are still possible — they’re simply quoted individually through the customization charge after we review your measurements.

Step 3: Pick Material and Finish

Construction: our custom desk mats are a fine fabric surface over a soft, non-slip rubber base — washable, hand-cut to your measurements.

Thickness: standard custom desk mats (including the L-shaped) run 3 mm. If you order a custom version of one of our gaming pad models — Aqua Control +, Aqua Control II and the rest of the X-Raypad surface lineup — those are 4 mm.

Stitched edges — free: edge stitching is available in black, white, or full-color (we print your artwork onto white edging for a seamless, all-over look). Stitching resists fraying for years — and unlike many shops, we don’t charge extra for it.

Step 4: Artwork and Approval — How Ordering Works

1. Place the order with your size and artwork (or solid color).

2. We hand-edit your artwork — free. A real person (not an automated crop tool) adjusts your image to the mat’s proportions and resolution. Many shops charge for artwork editing; we don’t.

3. You approve the production preview. Nothing is printed or cut until you’ve seen and confirmed the preview.

4. Production takes 12–48 hours after your approval — and before shipping, we photograph your finished mat and send you the pictures, so what you approved is what arrives.
